River Clean Up
Clean-Up on James River- June 13th, 2009
A clean up float will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2009. Ozark Mountain Paddlers coordinated the float again this year.

All boaters/floaters/volunteers are to meet at Lake Springfield Boathouse at 7:45 AM. Someone will be there to direct them as to where to park. Volunteers will be taken by buses to the put in location. If boaters have their own boats then they will unload them at Creighton Access, OMP will be there to make sure all equipment is safe.
Directions
Boathouse: Driving direction from I-44: MO-360 E / James River FWY, Exit 69 East to Right on S. National Avenue. Turn left on Republic Rd/E Republic St. and then turn right onto S. Fremont Avenue follow that to left on E. Briar Street. Briar Street becomes Kissick Avenue and Lake Springfield Park entrance is on the left. Enter into the park and follow the road to the end where the Boathouse is located.
Boathouse: Driving direction from US Hwy 65: West on E. Evans Road to right onto E. Evans Road/E. Farm Road 188 which becomes S. Kissick Avenue. The park entrance will be on the right. Enter into the park and follow the road to the end where the Boathouse is located.
If you have your own canoe/kayak you will need to drop it off at the Creighton Access and then drive to Lake Springfield Boathouse and there you will be shuttled to the put in location (Creighton Access): There will be OMP (Ozark Mountain Paddlers) members at Creighton to watch the boats. Driving Directions: From Schoolcraft freeway (US65) go east on Battlefield Road. Continue straight at the 3-way stop. When the road veers right stay with it (it becomes South Murphy Rd at this point). Next intersection bear left onto Kinser Rd. The road will get twisty. Just before the bridge turn left onto Farm Rd 193. There is a large MODoC sign near the intersection with "Joe Creighton Recreation Area".
